Ralph Prusacki

Ralph Prusacki 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:20 P.M., Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at his residence from effects of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Ralph was a retired farmer and dock expediter for the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, charter member of the Knights of Columbus # 4476, American Legion Post 647, Lifetime member of Du Quoin VFW Post 513, NARFE- Carbondale branch, Perry County Farm Bureau. Ralph was a US Navy veteran of W. W. II.
He was born June 10, 1923 at St. Louis, MO, the son of Mike S. and Rose E. (Nikrant) Prusacki.
He married Dorothy M. Liszewski on October 5, 1946 at the St. Charles Church in Du Bois and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons- Joseph Prusacki and wife Carla of Sterling, VA, Karl Prusacki of Du Quoin, two daughters- Joan Guciardo and husband Jack of Belleville, Mary Lynn Szperra and husband Jim of Du Bois, daughter-in-law- Cyrilla Prusacki of Du Quoin, four  grandchildren- Elizabeth Szperra of Du Bois, Renee, Dana and Marc Prusacki all of Du Quoin, two brothers- Michael R. Prusacki and wife Rosalea of Du Quoin, Leon Prusacki and wife Connie of Tamaroa, sister- Bernice Nowakowski of Tamaroa, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Randall Prusacki, sister- Laverne Kabat, two brothers-in-law- Arthur Kabat and Tom Nowakowski.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 10, 2002 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. The Rosary was recited at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin VFW Post 513.
Friends may make memorials to the ALS Association , Masses or to the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
